As
previously mentioned, the Lance and Longbow Society produces
a quarterly issue of it's highly praised journal "HOBILAR".
This is packed full of articles to interest anyone interested
in the period and is usually in the region of 35 to 40 pages
per issue.
The
society is always in need of well written and interesting
articles for inclusion in the journal. Should you wish to
submit an article please contact Dave
Lanchester .
There are currently two sample articles from the Hobilar,
just click on the image alongside the article you wish to
read. More articles may be added at a later date, but you
can read them all by ordering the various back issues (see
below for more details).

The
Battle of Tewkesbury - May 4th 1471 (Hobilar 1).
This article was written by Dave Lanchester. It was an
interesting article that resulted in a lot of comments
and articles by other members, it also included some colour
graphics. |

The Battle of Hexham 1464 (Hobilar 36)
This article was written by John Watson. It's a another
article on The Wars of the Roses (which appears to be
a popular period for society members). As well as being
an interesting article on this particular battle, it also
provides some ideas on wargamming the battle. |
